Historic George Ranch

If you are not familiar with the George Ranch, just south of Houston, Texas, then I would suggest a trip.

The history is interesting, especially in consideration of how Texas was settled.

When it was still part of Mexico, the parcel of land where the ranch is located, was in an area where Mexico was having trouble getting settlers.

An arrangement was made, then, for American settlers to come and settle the land. The George Ranch was owned by the same family starting in the 1830s.
